This is a great introduction to the world of stand up paddle or a way to really test your SUP skills. Our half tour takes you on a 10 kilometer (6 miles) through jungle and farmland. The spring fed Jamao and Yassica Rivers passes through the “Cordillera Septentrional”, the northern mountain chain of the Dominican Republic and winds its way down to the Atlantic Ocean just west of Cabarete.
On a stand up paddleboard you will be able to see fish, crabs, and prawns that inhabit the rivers. There are quite a few “fast parts” of the river where you can test your river SUP skills. If testing your skills is not what you fancy, then drop down and either kneel or sit on the paddleboard and still enjoy the speed the river has to offer.
What is great about these paddleboards is how maneuverable they are. Also, they cruise shallower areas of the river. They are made out of a roto-molded plastic, similar to a kayak.
