Single Day trips
- Tours booked in the shop in Cabarete may leave a 50% with the balance due 12 hours prior to the tour.
- Tours booked online must be paid in full at the time of booking. We offer a 100% cancellation if the tour must be canceled due to severe weather conditions or for safety reasons.
- All tours booked online or cash in the shop include tax.
- We will make every effort to accommodate your requested tour dates. Please understand certain tours require a minimum number of guests and may be subject to date changes if we don’t have sufficient numbers to run the tour.
- A full refund will be given when cancellations are made before 4.00pm the day prior to the tour.
- Tours canceled after 4.00pm the day prior to the tour will not be refunded.
All payments are refunded for tours canceled by Kayak River Adventures
Trip Modification
- Itineraries may change due to weather, availability of new accommodations or routes, problems with old routes, etc. Kayak River Adventures reserves the right to change the itinerary due to any factor.
What’s not included
- Airfare, airport transfers, medical expenses, cost of hospitalization or evacuation from remote areas, personal medical insurance, tips for guides.
- We are happy to help book hotels. For an additional fee, airport and hotel transfers are available.
Medical & Client Responsibilities
- Good physical and mental health are essential for the enjoyment of our trips.
- It is essential that any participant with a medical condition requiring regular treatment or which may be affected by vigorous activity, high altitude, heat, cold, other natural phenomena, or foods, notify Kayak River Adventures, in writing, in advance of the trip.
- All participants must carry their own medical insurance, valid for the duration of the trip.
- Clients must present themselves for tours in a condition that guides feel will enable them to participate without endangering themselves or others, this especially relates to cascading, canyoning and biking trips. Please drink responsibly the night before trips as any sign of intoxication may lead to the cancellation of tours or exclusion of individuals without recourse to refunds.
Custom Tours/Packages
Reservations and Payment
- Early reservations are encouraged. Some trips fill several months before departure.
- All reservations require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
- Full payment is required 10 days before your arrival.
- All payments must be in the form of U.S. dollars. If payment is not received when due, Kayak River Adventures reserves the right to treat the reservation as canceled.
Cancellation by Client
When written notification of cancellation is received more than 30 days prior to your arrival, any payments minus 25% will be refunded. Written cancelations less than 30 days prior to your arrival for a custom tour are subject to any hotel cancellation fees plus $100 fee for tours reserved and work done on your behalf. No refunds or credit for cancellation given less than 10 days of trip arrival dates. KAYAK RIVER ADVENTURES custom tours are sold as packages, and there will be no refunds to individuals who leave early or arrive late.
Exceptions to the above cancellation policies cannot be made for any reason, including weather and personal emergencies. KAYAK RIVER ADVENTURES STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT YOU PURCHASE A TRAVEL INSURANCE POLICY THAT INCLUDES TRIP CANCELLATION AND INTERRUPTION INSURANCE.
Cancellation by Kayak River Adventures
Kayak River Adventures reserves the right to cancel any tour or custom package due to acts of nature and/or any other occurrence out of our control.
Should Kayak River Adventures have to cancel your custom tour, you will receive a full refund.
Multi-day Adventures, Group Tours, and Training Courses
Reservations and Payment
- Early reservations are encouraged. Some trips, training courses fill several months before departure.
- All reservations require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
- Full payment is required 45 days before departure.
- All payments must be in the form of U.S. dollars. If payment is not received when due, Kayak River Adventures reserves the right to treat the reservation as canceled.
Cancellation by Client
When written notification of cancellation is received more than 45 days prior to departure of the trip, any payments minus 25% will be refunded. Written cancelations between 45 and 30 days prior to departure any payments minus 25% will be credited to future tours. No refunds or credit for cancellation given less than 30 days of trip departure dates. Iguana Mama trips are sold as packages, and there will be no refunds to individuals who leave a trip early or arrive late.

Cancellation by Kayak River Adventures
Kayak River Adventures reserves the right to cancel any trip due to acts of nature and/or any other occurrence out of our control. Kayak River Adventures rates are based on a minimum group size of four people, should a trip be undersubscribed, we do everything we can to make a trip go but cannot guarantee it.
Should Kayak River Adventures cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund.
Kayak River Adventures is not responsible for additional expenses such as airline or hotel cancellations fees.
Pre-Departure Package
On receipt of your deposit, we will send you a receipt and confirmation and a pre-departure information package. This will include an itinerary, a clothing and equipment checklist, current medical requirements, passport, and tourist card requirements.
Trip Modification
- We design our trips with a degree of flexibility, to provide you with the best possible opportunity for exploring the Dominican Republic.
- Therefore our itineraries may change due to weather, availability of new accommodations or routes, problems with old routes, etc. Iguana Mama reserves the right to change the itinerary due to any factor.
What’s included
- Kayak River Adventures include specified meals, accommodation and meal taxes, snacks and purified drinking water, professional guides, park entry fees and permits, maps and vehicle or mule support (to carry purified drinking water, food, spare parts, tools, first aid and at times, weary cyclists and hikers).
- Hotel accommodations, when included, assume single occupancy is available for an additional fee.
